“This really isn’t fair, you know.”

“You knew what you were getting into when you agreed to play.” I laughed and nodded at Isaac’s waist. “Lose the underwear.”

He shook one broad hand, drawing my eye to the solid silver watch circling his left wrist. “Why can’t I take this off first?”

The concept of an aroused woman biting her lip is so overdone, but there really was nothing else I could do as I ran my gaze over Isaac’s near-naked body.

Every line was cut to perfection. The light dusting of dark hair over his chest was just the right kind of masculine. The shadows in his lamp-lit bedroom played across the planes of his beautiful face and darkened his green eyes to a heart-stopping mossy tone. His legs were thick and strong, the skin a little paler on his thighs, and his arms were beyond incredible, with shoulders and biceps that made my mouth actually water. Yet, for some reason I couldn’t articulate, I was distracted by his forearms and the way his silver watch looked against the tanned muscles roping their way up to his biceps.

The watch was classic, almost old-school—just like Isaac—and it did things to me. The sight of his hands holding his cards fanned in front of his eyes practically hypnotised me. The way he dropped them on the covers between us, then set his elbows on his knees just so he could stare at me, sent tingles dancing across my skin. Every move he made was competent and confident and sexy, and I wanted that watch to stay on.

“It doesn’t count, so it stays where it is,” I declared. “Underwear, Romeo. Now.”

Isaac glanced around the room, where his jeans, shirt, and both socks were tossed on the floor. He really hadn’t been wearing very much—five hands of very easy poker, and the guy was going to be in his birthday suit. Me, on the other hand…

“You’re still fully dressed,” he grumbled, then set his feet on the floor before standing and looming over me. He hooked his thumbs into the waistband of his briefs and narrowed his eyes. “So, if I take these off next, and the watch doesn’t count, where does that leave us exactly? Game over, right?”

My lips curved upwards in an anticipatory grin. “Game over,” I agreed. “And our next lesson begins.”

Isaac closed his eyes like he was searching for strength.

“Oh, come on,” I said, twisting my legs to cross my ankles underneath me, bouncing on the bed like a kid excited to finally be getting her birthday gifts. “I’ve seen it all before, remember? There was that sneak peek in your parents’ bathroom. You’ve got nothing to be embarrassed about. Believe me.”

“I’m not embarrassed…exactly,” he mumbled before squinting down at me. “Your clothes will come off eventually, right?”

“Oh, you can bet on that.”

“Fine.”

In one quick move, he pushed his underwear down to his ankles, then kicked them to the side. Standing tall, Isaac crossed his arms over his chest and waited while I
